On Hunter Mill Road, More News You Can Use

sign photo.JPG

First it was aliens. Now zombies are apparently prowling Hunter Mill Road in search of the unsuspecting and the credulous. Confidential Restonian Operative "Andrea" shared this photo, taken Monday night near where Hunter Mill intersects with the Toll Road.

Clearly this was an oversight on VDOT's part -- as we've said before, if they're seriously worried about protecting us from mindless creatures lurching about in single-minded pursuit of human flesh granite countertops, they should have put this sign at one of the Ashburn exits on the Greenway.

  1. First aliens and condom usage, now zombies? And I thought flood damage was the only hazard on the road today.

  2. I call Bull Cookies. These Zombies can't be from Reston because Reston doesn't have a graveyard.

Or was this outbreak of undead from our Neighbor to the West?

  3. Not the Neighbor to the West. Hunter Mill goes under the Toll Road on the east side of our fair City.

The Madison Island is closer and a more likely source of zombies.

  4. @The Convict - Actually, I think Reston has two grave sites. The first at the Reston Hunt Club, 1321 Lake Fairfax Drive. The cemetery is located in a stand of trees about 200 yards north of the log clubhouse. The second is at the Brown's Chapel location when it was on Route 7. The building was moved to Baron Cameron Avenue in 1968. There’s a cemetery at the old location. Special Bonus: there used to be a small cemetery on the premises of the Bowman Distillery, but I don't think it's there anymore.

But that's all beside the point, of course, since you don't need graveyards for the Zombie Apocalypse.
