Guess the Mauve Bits, Pt. 5: Spot the Squalor

guess5.jpg
It's been a while since we've thrown out one of our exciting photos of Reston unearthed by Wikileaks found on the Google machine, but we think you'll get a kick out of this softball mind-blowing challenge. Hard to believe this kind of squalor would be associated with Reston, isn't it? First one to correctly guess the location in the comments wins that almost brand new Buick with the broken cruise control is the first to correctly guess the location. Good luck, and see the winner in about 14 minutes, the end.

Update: And we have a winner, though it took a record 33 minutes. No word if that mess is still out back, but there's a nice Christmas tree out front these days.

  4. Is it still called Gaelic Gardens?

  5. It looks like Meadows Farms off Route 7, but isn't that considered Herndon?

  6. I think it's the back lot behind La Madeleine, littered with the carcasses of geese overstuffed with foie gras fodder or whatever the French kids call it these days. Does anyone still go there? I never hear anyone mention any of their locations. (I like the place: the tomato basil soup was not bad at all. No idea if they actually serve goose or duck.)

  7. Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner, two actually. Anon 12:58 is right; it's the building just before the southwest corner of Baron Cameron and Rt. 7. And my other half is pretty certain it is a farmers market, as Anon 1:02 said.

Give those two anons a job with the National Reconnaissance Office and I bet THEY'LL find the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq!

  8. Eye in the Sky is correct -- the first guess was the right one. And it's still a farmer's market of some sort; they have a nice Christmas tree out front. Buicks for everyone!
