Ladies and Gentlemen, the Saddest Tweet Ever

saddest twitter post ever.jpg

It's not you, it's my earth-toned planned real estate development.

  2. Dating someone in Reston while living in DC is a long distance relationship for the following reasons. The "pop-in" is a small to non-existiant possibility. There is no, "I was in the neighborhood, so I decided to stop by." Meet-ups require travel planning. "I have to make sure I have enough gas," "I have to figure out a bus to train to bus itinerary," "I better use the bathroom before I go." Along with that, the likelihood of sleepovers is almost 100%. If I'm dating someone in the neighborhood, I could theoretically come over for dinner, have a few drinks, make a little love and make it home that same evening. Not so when I have to catch a bus to a train to a bus or drive 30 miles under the influence of alcohol or post-coital bliss. Can relationships work between Restonians and DCists? Yes, but each party should know that he or she is entering a long distance relationship.

Considering it just took me 75 minutes to get from the Skyline area of Arlington to our "super rad awesome" Mauve Wonderland I don't blame this couple for terming this a "long-distance relationship." Perhaps if the anti-progress NIMBYs years ago had shut their traps the SILVER LINE actually would have been operational by now?

    Aaron:

How about trying out this line: "I was in the neighborhood enjoying some awesome pasta at the Macaroni Grill, so I decided to stop by."

    BiCO (a.k.a. Hoodsie-Woodsie):

Well, they COULD have met halfway in your favorite urban environment of Tysons Corner, although I guess the guy would run the risk of having his pants wowed off him by the overly botoxed Krystal Koons.

Seriously, give me a break that DC to Reston is long distance. Before getting married, my wife and I were separated for a couple of years by 5,000 miles.

  6. I'm with Peasant. Even after we were married my job kept me in Germany and his kept him in Alabama...for two more years....
