On the YouTubes: Relive the Magic of the Reston Festival: 'Lots of Foof'

It's like we were there. "Lots of foof," is how the YouTubes description puts it.

If you can't get enough, there's more from the same narrator/videographer. Also, we've received unconfirmed reports that this photo was also from the Reston Festival, which, if true, will make us reevaluate the merits of the event.

Sadly, there don't appear to be any YouTubes from the Ukulele Festival at Lake Anne yet, but here's what it might have sounded like, based on a video from across the pond (and by "pond," we don't mean Lake Thoreau).

Wait for the classy chorus.

  1. Despite the narration, the festival was actually noon-8 Sat and noon-7 Sunday with music one could stay for after 8 on Saturday. The weather was perfect once the festival started Saturday. The only bad part was the hordes of people who thought everyone owed them something free just for the pleasure of their company. Geez...the festival was free to attend! What was wrong with those people. Delegate Ken Plum gave our community table a bunch of pens to use and people stole Ken Plum's pens from our non-Plum table!

  2. The picture of the lovely lady w/ the whip is from Circurious, which performed in the Pavilion Sunday at 3pm. Here is a promo video of the show http://s538.photobucket.com/albums/ff346/circurious/?action=view&current=CircuriousPromo.flv
Many, but not all, of the performers in the promo video were at Reston Festival, and none of the lighting in the video was at RF, it was outside on a sunny day, the lights wouldn't have been visible. The lovely lady with the whip is also an aerialist, and can be seen on the promo video in the air in a couple of shots. The Pavilion was packed for the show, the aerialists and the dancer got the best reception from the crowd, with the juggler a close second.
Saturday night King Teddy played swing in a packed Pavilion, and there was also a Kids Stage and a small stage down by Market and Explorer.
