Breaking: Woman Found Dead in Winterthur Apartment Identified

Police have identified the woman who was found dead in the Winterthur Apartment complex in South Reston on Saturday as 42-year-old Karen Deck. Though the cause of death was a gunshot wound, the case is still under investigation. From the official release:

On Saturday, October 24, officers were called to an apartment in the 11900 block of Winterthur Lane around 3:40 p.m. to check on the welfare of an adult man. They located a man sitting inside. The body of a woman was also found inside the apartment. An investigation determined the victim, Karen Deck, of 1599 Inlet Court in Reston, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Homicide detectives are still investigating. No charges have
been placed at this time.

Karen was my neighbor and worked at Giant. She was a really sweet person and will be missed!

wow thats sad i use to work for her at gaint ms karn was a great lady why would some one do this to her i hope they find that person and burn them in helllllll im sorry for the lost to the deck family

Police are investigating the death of a 42-year-old woman. On Saturday, October 24, officers

the welfare of an adult man. They located Ronald Robertson sitting inside. The body of a woman was also found inside the apartment. An investigation determined the victim, Karen Deck, of
1599 Inlet Court in Reston, suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body. No charges have been
placed at this time for the victim’s death; however, Robertson, 45, of 11900 Winterthur Lane
#PH3 in Reston, was charged on Wednesday, October 28 with possession of a firearm by a
convicted felon. Homicide detectives are still investigating.
